If you are using Adobe Reader, it is time to change. I am sick of the slow loading speed in Adobe Reader, it can take up to 2 or 3 minutes to load a heavy PDF file. This is because Adobe Reader is filled with tons of plugins, many of which we don’t even need. Another reason why I have dumped Abobe Reader is the amount of space it takes, and also...the frequency of updating the program. Ofcourse there are better alternatives available like Foxit reader, which loads faster than Adobe Reader. But I would recommend PDF-XChange Viewer, which is far more powerful than any other PDF reader and the best thing is that it comes free.
PDF-XChange Viewer has tons of features and is 15MB heavy, but if you are not willing to download such powerful and heavy file, then there is a Portable Version Available which is just 4.8MB heavy and can be run from CD/DVD or USB Flash Drive.
Navigate to Edit > Preferences and you will see features which you have never thought of before. This program allows you to add sticky notes inside the PDF document, and you can even edit the text of the document, both of which are not found in Adobe Reader.
Apart from the standard features it comes packed with the following features,
I hope this helps, but if you are not willing to go for another software, then there is a way to increase the loading speed of Adobe Reader up to 300%, which I have explain here how to do it.
